Agree with your point - 10,000 Euros is a really large sum. I think they should stick to micro-enterprises : 2 to maybe 10 employees with investment capped at perhaps at 2000/3000 Euros.

thanks for your comments. I am a bit concerned by some of their not so micro-enterprises and the few providers on the site. I don't really know if 10'000+ Euro loans are sustainable. It is very difficult to screen providers and projects and make a profit when the user is responsible for the currency risk et al. I am more positive toward microloans to microcompanies and lately they have started with jumbo loans. I feel that microcredit should not replace banks but provide the service to these unbankable. On the other hand they do have many worthy micro (or semi micro) loans especially in Uganda !

Agree..The testimonials are very good. MYC4 is targeting micro-enterprises which have a lot of potential to create employment ( unlike microfinance). The challenge is going to be on the ground - how to screen and identify the right micro-enterprises. To my knowledge no proven and scalable model for scaling micro-enterprises exists today and what they doing is truly pioneering.
